Awesome.  I guess the six-foot snow banks that bracket my driveway aren't big enough.  :?

Sweet Mother of God that's incredible.  What a horrible weather year for Australia.

EDIT:  Pics coming soon.

Pic #1 is my back patio.  It sits about 3 feet off the ground so the 12-18 inches of snow that rise above that equals 48+ inch snow bank.

Pic #2 is my front walk.  You'll note the 3+ foot snow banks that bracket the walkway that the kids will use to catch the bus tomorrow.

Pic #3 is my eight y.o. son Everett (blue911 knows him as "Gustavo") who is 52 inches tall for reference.  That's a 6+ foot snow bank behind him that's comprised of snow from the plowed street as well as my SHOVELED driveway.

Pic#4 is Everett in front of a snow bank from the shoveling of my lower patio.  This would normally be a good shot of my back yard, but it looks like poor Everett will be waiting until July to play outdoors when that 4+ foot snow bank is finally gone.

Pic #5 is the swingset Everett and his brother and sister will play on in July when all this snow finally melts.

Pic #6 is the family van that my wife drives - that was before I shoveled the lower patio this morning.  She's on a retreat in North Carolina right now (for school) so I figured I have some time before I have to dig her out.

They're now talking about more snow on Saturday and then a potential coastal storm on Tuesday.   :?

Funny, he doesn't look like a Gustavo.

One day when he was in kindergarten I had a little girl from down the street show up and ask if "Gustavo was home."  I come to find out that he rode the bus with her and invited her over to play.  So my wife and I made up this whole story about how he was dating two girls at once (because he's really good friends with our next-door neighbor's daughter) and so he had to lie about his real name to protect his story.

nice.  we have family just west of Albany and get up there every summer.  It's only about 2-3 hours to Cooperstown (though last time we went to Hyde Park to eat the Culinary Institute instead).

How far from Albany?  I'm just south of Albany and it only takes me about 1:15 to get to Cooperstown.

East Greenbush is South/SE of Albany, according to mapquest.

No doubt.  Though luckily I live close enough to the river to use 9J on my work commute.

keep your eyes on a major storm potentially hitting our area late next week (thursday), the GFS is showing a big snow storm (more than the last one) hitting the east coast with blizzard conditions around philly/NYC/boston again and snow in the D.C. area.

After that, we could get a cold snap with temps in the single digits / teens.  One last blast before the end of winter (hopefully).

Man, I was just coming to post about Thursday. Went to see what the forecast looked like. The low on Thursday is supposed to be 8 degrees farenheit. Yes, you read that right. Under ten degrees. High of 34. If we get any precipitation at all Weds/Thurs, it's going to be a mess.
