Awful, meat fastball to Soto.

Lucky the 2nd run didn't score

Jason Werth throws out Pena. Werth is a baseball player. He will hit.

This crapshow is, plain and simple, Mike Rizzo's fault.  He is the disease.  Everything else is just a symptom.

I didn't.  I can probably dig up my post from last year where I said his highish average was inflated by an unsustainable BABIP and that it would regress significantly next season, if I look hard enough.

Post 356 of this thread alludes to it.

People will see the stats for this game and think Zimmermann had a bad game, but this should seriously be 2-0 right now.

The pitch selection is freaking brutal. Soto lives on fastballs and they threw him one.

Awful team effort today. JZ was subpar, the defense stunk, and the offense has been absent.

Looked like he had no idea where the fence was. Plenty of padding, though...

The Cubs don't all swing for the fences, they just put the ball in play a little over the infielders' heads.

LMAO at Stairs. That just didn't look right.

He was expected to be adequate with a bit of pop. Not horrendous like this

Espo will be our future SS. Desmond will be a decent backup.

6th   G Soto singled to right, A Ramirez scored, C Pena thrown out at home, M Byrd to third.

Cubs/Bernadina    4
Nationals              2

It's too bad Stares couldn't have just disintegrated on that play.

At least Stairs made a hard effort to get to the ball.

More than we can say about some players.

Pretty much, he assembled this bullcrap excuse for a roster

Norris is fool's gold.

If Norris can't hit above .210 in AA, he won't have much chance against big-time pitchers.

Bixler to SS this year; 2B switch with Espinosa next year.

The only reason anyone can possibly still be watching this game is to see how many runs the opposing team will get.     :bang:
There are other possible reasons.
hahaha he was safe
looks like he got him, actually.
