Today is Opening Day

Yeah, The Mariners and As are playing the first real game on Japan while here in the States, its still Spring Training!

I hate this!

I think the first game of the season should be played in the states!  If not, then play it when ALL the teams are NOT in Spring training!  To me this is an exhibition game!

Btw, last time I checked it was 1-1 in 6th.

I don't mind it.

I don't think the game should be played a week before the regular season, though.

IT might be cool to take a week or so in mid-season and play games abroad in Japan, China, So. Korea, Taiwan, DR, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy, and a few other countries.  That would showcase the sport abroad, but not mess up the normal cycle of getting ready for the season.   Teams that now play these games often get off to sluggish starts.  I don't think it has led to injuries.  I think it impacts pitchers the worst.

Cool idea, JCA.

Although, I'm sure players wouldn't want jet lag after flying to Seoul in the middle of a 162 game season.

Sure, give them 2 days off before resuming here instead of one.  You send home early the guys who will pitch the first couple of games back in the states so they have even more time to recover, or maybe you do a roster accommodation to allow a couple of extra pitchers from AAA to get a call up and pitch.

1-1 in the ninth.

Felix has gone eight. Cespedes has a double.

I think they should have come up with two better teams to watch.
