This trade will have massive repercussions for baseball in Miami. Loria basically just killed his franchise. No one will sign there, fans won't show up, and the players that are there will have no confidence in management at all. This isn't like Oakland and Tampa playing Moneyball where players and fans know that they are trying to win despite low payrolls. This is Loria skywriting that he doesn't give a freak. If he doesn't care, what should anyone involved in the organization at any level, from the fans, to the players, to the coaches, care either? Unless he sells the team, this could mark the beginning of the end of the Marlins franchise.

i really have to wonder if MLB kills this deal.  You are right, there's no point in having this team exist after this deal.
