Someone please explain to me why Mark DeRosa gets to be in the line up?

His batting average for the year?

.081

He is doing his best Matt Stairs impersonation. Someone had to fill the role. ;)

Nope. I can't think of any decent hitter that will be available. But, with Harper up, we have to get something more out of Espinosa, Desmond and Lombo.

It's going to be nice to see someone push the Werth contract further down the worst all time list when hamilton signs this offseason

Not any werse than the Zimmmmmm extension. At least Hamilton got them to the WS twice and has an MVP trophy to show for it. It'll be as bad as the Howard contract but the Rangers aren't cheap misers.

If you judge contracts on past performance, your logic works. Otherwise, he's going to get a mega deal on the wrong side of 30 with a body prone to breaking down, besides, at this point, it looks like the rangers are going to be smart enough to shy away

Just a general comment, now necessarily related to the offense alone -

We've lost our last 3 in a row - each one by one run.  Pythag is now 13-8, actual record is 14-7.  Record is now 6-5 in one run games.
