Didn't Grandpa (Al Lewis) run for mayor of NYC onetime?

what makes you say that?  honestly, what really makes you think we're going to a) improve our roster, b) improve our record, c) improve our losing mentality?

Nieves is batting ~.260 and is okay defensively. what else do you want from your back-up catcher?

Guzman is making 16X what Nieves makes and looks like he doesn't care less. His production has gone down the tank.

I am trying to be positive in a bad situation.  Hopefully some of the younger pitchers can learn and improve.  I don't think the everyday players are as bad as some here post.  Maybe a new manager can get  the Nationals heading in the right direction.

defensively did you see the first inning?  did you see the missed tag from a few weeks ago?  have you seen his ERA as a game-caller?

you're just ridiculous.

and yeah guzman is in a slump...it's not like gonzalez has played well enough to take over the position.

i tried to last offseason going into this year, but i'm not buying that crap anymore.  we've played better in the second half of the season than we did in the first, but that's b/c acta was pattersoned (thank god) and rizzo has done his best in trying to clean up bowden's dump.

i know i'm a broken record when i say we need to go hard after plenty of quality free agents this next offseason, but really that's all i can say right now as we have glaring needs.

the one thing i'm positive about, is that we're gonna suck next year too.

I don't remember, but Fred Gwynne lived like 10 minutes down the road from my house.

Batting average sucks.  You can't pimp it out when discussing Nieves and dismiss it when you mention Guzman.

You and Hammonds are both hypocrites.  Nieves sucks at the dish.  No power, no plate discipline.  Just like Guzman, incidentally.

I can fully understand why anyone would think that the Nationals will lose 100 games for a couple more years.  Maybe, I look at the Nationals a little differently and think they(younger player/pitchers) can improve with experience.  As for adding players/pitchers I'm all for it if it is the right type of person.  Adding a Pedro Martinez like (Aged Veteran) player is not going to get things going forward.  It is going to be hard to get any valued FA to come in when Rizzo is going to be shaking out the bugs in this organization.
