No it's not new, just annoying.
It is.  That's why I don't even really bother looking more than a day or so ahead.  Everyone at work for the last few days, "OMG!  50 billions inches of ice and 200 mph winds, it's going to be a heck of a storm!"  Now it's basically calling for rain, with 0.1-0.2" of ice at most possible.  People get too riled up about winter weather.

To the north of us, however, it is going to be a beast.  Hopefully it stays up there in Minty country.

Looks like Mount Snow in Southern Vermont may get 3 feet of it out of this one.

my co-workers in Chicago are panicking, grocery stores are being stripped bare, and those guys know snow.

update: reports are 1/8 mile visibility, heavy snow, wind gust to 55MPH in Chicago with thunder/lightning heading toward the city.

Weather.com currently has a high of 52 tomorrow with the hourly not dropping below 36 overnight, yet there is still a constant scroll about local closings

Where do you live, salty?  You still have that much snow and snow on the roads, or is that a picture from a few days ago?

Tomorrow I will try to remember to post before and after photos of my shoveling adventure.  The snow banks are already up to four feet and we're supposed to get at least another 16 inches tomorrow.

meanwhile an area in NW Australia equivalent in size to the Philly-Boston stretch of the U.S. is about to take a direct hit from a category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 190MPH and gusts up to 255 MPH.  Count your blessings if you are just dealing with ice and snow.
