I think we have a better chance of keeping Strasburg, even though I can see him wanting to pitch on the left coast at some point in his career. It's all speculation at this point thought. Hell, Harper may never be as good as the hype and Stras might turn into Prior 2.0. I'm just happy that we have Gio G. locked up for a while. We got him at the right time.

Hopefully he's as old school as he says he is and sticks with one team like his idols Pete Rose and Mickey Mantle did.

This kid is one of the best I've ever seen (and I've been around a long time).  I just want to enjoy him right now.  He just got here for heaven's sake!  Every time he plays, he brings magic.  To me, when he stole home on Hamels, I knew he was extra-special.  The time will come to try and re-sign him.  I know it's certainly no given, he'll stay with Washington.  But we got him first.  And I'm counting the minutes to gametime tonight!

absurd deal is for a given player- the odds of some team coming in with a crazy high number are pretty good (what if a team with a crazy old owner like the current tigers offers 20 years?)

Sign them all now: Strassburg, Zimmermann, Harper. Market them. Win a couple of pennants. The Redskins have been popular, even though they have fielded lousy teams lately, except for a few years of Joe Gibbs, and one or two season s in the late '90s. The Nats can be just as popular.

I cannot envision Harper finishing his career with us.  Between the Yankees being his favorite team and Boras being his agent I think we're screwed. 

I do think we have a decent shot at keeping Strasburg since this organization favors pitching over position players (at least that apears to be the track record).
