"Brian Goodwin is an absolute monster. 2-out, go-ahead grand slam off LHP Zach Phillips in a 6-run 7th. Now .389 vs LHP. 7-4 @SyracuseChiefs."

What does he have to do to replace Michael A?  The handed thing isn't an issue.

But he still has a 13/36 BB/K ratio in 151 PA. If you moved him to the majors and gave him MAT's .247 BABIP, I don't think you'd see appreciably different offensive numbers. It's always going to be a losing battle to try to pick the "hot" guy who strikes out 30+% of the time.

I like to see people given equal chances and I think we've seen enough of MAT for now. I agree that Goodwin might not light anything on fire in DC, but feel he deserves a shot. Maybe somebody would lose face if a change was made.  :icon_question:

how about going with den Dekker and Heisey as the back up outfielders?

Probably be consistent. Goodwin sucked for like two seasons. Maybe we should give him a little more than a month before annointing him MLB ready.

In addition, once Turner gets called up, Espinosa will be on the bench. They can DFA Stephen Drew, send Taylor down, and call up denDekker, keeping the bench handed balance in tact.

Except somehow Espinosa is hitting better lefty this year.

His BB rate has decreased over the years. If nothing else, he was a solid OBP guy. This year, .39 K/BB, 22% K rate, 8.5% BB rate. It'd be awesome if he could get back to that ~10% BB rate.

Still hanging at .303/.372/.462

Hope he's the first one to get the call if there's an injury. The BB:K is evening out recently.

Guessing Revere/Goodwin will get looks in CF, with TT playing 2B.
