A 35-point lead with two minutes is probably insurmountable. Probalby.

Yes but appreciate it for the intensity and precision of the sport, not oggling athletic young men in skimpy outfits

They'll surrender in the 3rd quarter.   Got in trouble the last time I had France and surrender in the same sentence.   But what the hell.   It's so easy.

At least you didn't use 'cheese eating surrender monkeys'

A friend (who is a bit of a fatass) was snickering about the women's racewalk...I'll bet he could run any way he wanted for one block and any of those women would still beat him walking.  Hell, they would probably beat him even if he were on a bike.  What a cool sport.

It's the great equalizer because it requires no equipment - truly any one can compete and win

Yeah tell me that you watched beach volleyball only for the sport.  LOL

The dives were amazing.  4 summersaults before entering the water!  Very little splash on the entry.  That why I put my oogle smiley last.

Men's team decided all it wants to do is shoot the triple. LeBron needs to start driving to the basket

Watched the game and couldn't believe I was rootin' for LeBron.   Is this a great country or what?

lol, almost as soon as I said that, LeBron started to drive and kick and Durant went crazy. Some crucial play from Paul as well.

The drive to the basket late by Paul was sweet   ...   as were LJ's three and the hammer dunk.

If John and George were still around we wouldn't have to watch the Spice Girls right now.

Ditto Graham Chapman, possibly.

Eric Idle is funny!  If you watched it on line, no beeps!  I saw this part earlier.

I wonder if any station will at least mention winners of the paraolympics later this month.

Posted this elsewhere, but Brian May is the Jordan Zimmermann of guitarists.

From his wiki:
Quote
Brian Harold May, CBE (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician and astrophysicist most widely known as the guitarist, songwriter and occasional singer of the rock band Queen. As a guitarist he uses his home-built guitar, "Red Special", and has composed hits such as "Tie Your Mother Down", "I Want It All", "We Will Rock You", "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Who Wants to Live Forever".

He was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2005 for "services to the music industry and his charity work".[1] May earned a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College in 2007 and is the 4th and current Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University.[2] May currently resides in Surrey.[3]

In 2005, a Planet Rock poll saw May voted the 7th greatest guitarist of all time.[4] He was ranked at No. 26 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".[5]

I knew he built the guitar with his dad, and that its body had some hollowing to give it its characteristic sound.
