The offense has a chance to win this game.

Will they?  I think not.  :?

Hammondsnats will find a way to blame it on Hanrahan.    :?

If AH really hurt his hand smacking himself in the head, it would be too perfect.  Par for the course on this team.

The sad thing is Dukes wasn't even doing that much.

.277 BA/.347 OBP/.473 SLG

8 Doubles, 1 Triple, 4 HRs, 24 RBIs.

His injury woes are beginning to remind me of NJ.

freak, we have made Gorzelanny look like a stud shut down reliever this series. :?

8 losses in a row, all at home!!! It doesn't get any lower than this, Nats fans.

You were the one dogging him before

And don't deny it, or I WILL look up your posts.

Dukes is very streaky and definitely went through some slumps but he is by far the best CFer we can put on the field.

...Zimmerman has fallen off lately - it was bound to happen as hot as he was to start the season.

Zim-with-1-N had a low historical batting average against some of the Pirates pitchers; under .200.  So they just know how to pitch to him, since the Pirates apparently have a real pitching coach.

AIR ZIMMERMAN.. AZ!.. He needs OXYGEN to breathe, HAL! WHAT DID YOU DO, HAL?
All right, HAL; I'll go in through the emergency airlock.

Yeah but he wasn't that great in CF and he negated a lot of his ABs by getting picked off.  I'm not disagreeing with you that we're better off with him than without him, my point was just that he obviously scares pitchers more than Willingham does.

Pirates are about to be within 1 game of .500.

That is laughable considering how awful they are. Once again the Nats make the opposition look far better than they really are (see: the Florida Marlins who are 6-0 against the Nats and 13-22 against the rest of the league).

Kearns' swing looks so long again. And as always he lifts his hands on any inside pitch on the corner.

can't hit at all.

thank you for that stat, Bob.

Nats are 9-14 when Flores starts and 2-14 when he does not.

I guess Zimmerman isn't much of a difference-maker huh? :stir:

Hammer has more power.  Dukes takes more pitches.

9-14 still isn't very flattering praise.
