Focus l.o.  :)
There was a whole topic of people whining about how Akra might not be back, so I can make a little post whining about the loss of facial hair.

We weren't whining.   It was scientific inquiry.

A scientific inquiry lead by men who don't want to miss out on their favorite piece of eye candy... with the only "results" being a discussion on how much people would miss it.

Nope. A few years ago they hired some local girls for the Nats Pack (an upgrade over the regular Nats Pack), but for the most part they have no mascots or cheerleaders.

Werth is without a doubt the leader of this team.

Calling it now: Werth is a future major-league manager.

Been hot and cold about werth as a Nat, but this article shows that he really knows the game. It will be very interesting to watch how he plays (and leads) this year.

Davey on Cole Kimball: "I think he's back." Surprised how strong he looks. Still says he's probably headed for closer spot at AAA Syracuse.

The big mystery this spring is what the batting order will be on opening day.

Span, Werth, Harper, Zimmerman, LaRoche, Desi, Espi, Zuki, Stras. No mystery for the first time ever now that we are set at lead off.

Yeah, I think that should be the lineup.

The fight for last reliever spot could be interesting.  Or finding out whatever kind of injury excuse they come up with for HRod.

Also - seeing how Espinosa performs will be interesting.  I read somewhere that it might be possible they start the season with Lombo the starter and Carlos Rivero the utility guy and put Espinosa on the DL to give him more time to strengthen his shoulder.

It's starting to feel a bit lonely as the last hold out counting on HRod making a full recovery and pitching like he did when he first won the closer role last year.

It would be nice to see that HRod consistently again, but I'm not counting on it.  I know Rizzo and Davey have earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to judging this stuff and they seem to believe in him.

I'm sure it's in him somewhere to do that again but it'd really be better if he could not take the journey to finding it in the bigs.
