Seahawks' Alexander out indefinitely with foot fracture
By John Clayton
ESPN.com

The Seahawks lost reigning MVP Shaun Alexander indefinitely after X-rays revealed a small crack in a foot.

Alexander missed two days of practice last week because of a foot injury believed to have been sustained in a tackle in the Arizona Cardinals game in Week 2. Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, who announced the injury Monday, wasn't sure which part of Sunday's game against the Giants that Alexander suffered further injury to the foot.

Holmgren isn't sure how long Alexander will be out but it's possible he could miss a month. Holmgren said Alexander's injury is a non-displaced fracture of the foot.

Maurice Morris will be the starter in Alexander's absence. The Seahawks have a bye week following Sunday's game against the Bears.

Alexander rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's 42-30 victory over the New York Giants.

John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com.

Can't the athletes in question just say they don't want their picture on the cover?

No athlete is going to turn down a payday for something
as silly as an alleged curse.

Funny, this coming from a Boston fan.

Even funnier, is once again this video game claims another victim.  Jesus, this game is like the movie "The Ring" for athletes.

You must be referring to the Curse of The Bambino?

There is/has never been/never will be anything such as a curse.
The Red Sox thing (just like the Cubs) was a ridiculous media driven
attempt to sell shirts. It was good for BIG MOUTHED New Yawkers but
like I said....not real.

This is just ANOTHER media driven story thats grown legs with those who can't handle reality.

New Yawk ate the curse up more, but they make up stuff everyday,
just like Big Papi comments about Jeter. I just don't put too much stock
in UNREAL things.

The Madden Curse is alive and well.
It's the same thing every year. The cover guy says, "I don't believe in it"
And he has a bad year/gets hurt.
