no athlete in sports passed as many drug tests as Lance Armstrong.

Barry bonds passed a few as well

That'll happen when you get exemptions...

listening to the fangraphs podcast- agreement that the Os are in the worst position of any pro franchise in any sport- it really has to suck to follow them, terrible now with no hope

Hamilton spotted drinking alcohol at a bar recently.

:smh: he needs to admit his demons and have a 24/7 watchdog.

He talks about his "demons" all that the time, that he's constantly tempted. He needs to call his sponsor, not take crap in the media. Anyway, its not like he raped or murdered someone, he's an addict that had a minor relapse.

He has repeatedly said he doesn't need people watching him. He's in denial about his condition.

Even Dukes had a babysitter... and he's addicted to knocking up teenagers. I guess you have a point. I thought he did have a personal assistant type babysitter, my bad.

He does/did. But he kept saying he wouldn't take one because he was recovered.

Newsflash, not only to Hamilton, but all addicts. There is no such thing as a recovered addict. For the rest of your life you are recovering. Not recovered.

Until he realizes that, he'll always fall prey to the demons that got him in trouble in the first place.

According to reports, Kinsler was with him, as well.

Kinsler needs to step up and stop him in that situation. :smh:

Unacceptable non-action by Kinsler. How does he not try to stop Hamilton? Some friend and teammate he is.

Rangers didn't confirm it, until there is more, it may be just some fan seeing him with a ginger ale on the rocks at a bar

and just a week ago the owner said their commitment to Hamilton was a big reason they didn't go after fielder.  I hope he's able to keep himself clean.

ESPN focuses on the wOes today:

Orioles need a wave of new stars:
http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/20464/orioles-need-new-wave-of-stars

Bowden's 5 ways to turn the Orioles around:
http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/the-gms-office/post?id=3378

both argue that it's time to give up on markakis, jones, and the like and rebuild from the ground up (Bowden says through the draft).

apparently, he got a call from Hamilton(or someone using Hamilton's phone) and went to the bar to get him.

or something like that.

from what I am reading, Kinsler wasn't partying with Hamilton. he showed up later on, out of concern.

Updated from this link:

Quote
Update: Fraley later added that teammate Ian Kinsler also appeared at the bar in an "attempt to persuade Hamilton to return to his home in Westlake."

for those, who were concerned about Kinsler's behavior.

Apologies to Kinser if that's the case.

Report I saw said he was partying with Hamilton, not trying to get him to go home.

I wouldn't be shocked if this recent relapse causes Hamilton to drop a lot of the god talk.  That's one thing a lot of addicts discover when the night gets darkest - only you can control what you do, not god, not some higher power, you.  Some people can't deal with that.
