Yep. It made sense to give him a chance to be a starter, but he has failed.

Yea. He deserved a chance to start, but he's been terrible. Maybe the team was right: he's best in limited roles.

Wait, you guys thought Pudge missed the ball?  I thought it was pretty clear he tipped it into the glove and he then dropped it.  You could hear it and on the slow motion replay it looked like it changed directions as he swung.

Yikes martis has given up more hits/walks than outs recorded.

We average 30K per game on the year, FWIW.

Plus, the Braves are more like the South's team than Atlanta's team.
Only 19% of Atlanta's residents are from Atlanta.
You can't walk to the park from downtown.
There are plenty of reasons why there aren't better attendance numbers.

Could just be that Atlanta is a horrendous sports town.  Have you guys ever even consistently supported a winner?

Don't think so.  If you can go back and watch it, I think he got a whisker on it.  I thought the slow motion replay on both broadcasts showed he tipped it, just barely.

Gotta have one to support it ... Hawks, Flames, Falcons ... Braves?

Atlanta is just a crappy pro sports town.

Must need new specs.   The first base shot appears to show a miss.

Yes.   It was from the 1st base side.   Did look like Pudge missed it.   Hell, I'm old but it looked like he missed the ball by several inches.

Olsen looks great tonight. With the way he is, expect him to go back on the DL tomorrow.

Too bad this lineup isn't going to give Scott much run support.  :icon_frown:

Olsen needs to consistently keep his rhythm going like he is now.  When he slows down and takes time b/w pitches, that is when the the ugly side of his pitching persona rears its ugly head.  He is looking really good right now, though, and the Braves must be wondering how they are getting dominated by him for the second time this season.

I have mixed feelings on Olsen more than any other pitcher on the staff.  He has the ability and can put up some real solid efforts, but he has very little consistency and a growing injury history.  It'd be nice if he could nail down a spot with a string of good performances, but it seems more akin to his baseball persona to come out and throw a stinker next week.  Of course, he has to finish this one first.

Why does Olsen always no-hit the Braves?

I think it was a lot closer than you guys think.  In every replay, and I slowed it down to watch it frame by frame, it looks like when the ball and the bat cross paths there's a change of direction.  It's subtle, but it's there.  I thought I heard the tip when I saw it live.
