We wore ours last night

Bryce wearing a USA Baseball hat, and an underarmour "Don't be a clown bro" shirt haha.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 47th win, each season:

2005 - 30th June (78th match of season)
2012 - 4th July (79th match)
2011 - 16th July (94th match)
2006 - 31st July (106th match)
2007 - 1st August (107th match)
2010 - 2nd August (106th match)
2008 - 26th August (132nd match)
2009 - 6th September (137th match)

---

TODAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS - Monday 4th July 2005, The Day They Lost The Plot - after that incredible June run, the Nats came rudely back to earth on the Fourth with a 5-2 home loss to the Mets, inaugurating a stretch when wins would be few...record now 50-32...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250704120...thankfully this was not duplicated on this year's Fourth of July.

For true seamheads 2009 was the ultimate year to be a Nats fan as we watched the seeds of excellence start to sprout.

Looking back on it but it sucked at the time.   I look at OC's stats and goodness   ...   what an ugly year.

Then what were we watching in 2008?

2009 was the year I started following the nats, not watching them every day, but following their results. They were fun to bet against at least

Yes, I meant the season.  OldChelsea's post right above mine - it took until September 6 to win 47 games.

8.6 runs per game since June 26th? Holy crap.

That average will fall quite a bit after today.

Reading GDTs after the fact is fun :D

I think the slow-pitch softball offense masked how painful it was to watch that team play... because you always wanted to see what the offense would do next.

Even then, the offense was basically league average... but it was the best we've seen in DC in quite a while.

I am in Colorado and saw two guys wearing Nationals gear. I spoke to both of them and they knew the scores of the last two games. One even mentioned that the Mets lost today. The excitement for this team is growing.

Last time I went to a Rangers game in Arlington, I saw four Nats hats/shirts. I was excited, too.

I just thought I'd throw this out there... I really like Solano. He's been preforming for such short playing time.

I agree. And then with last year, you kind of felt like this year really could be the year. When everyone else was saying we were still a year away this off-season, I was like "Y'all better watch out." Especially once we added Gio, and Edwin.

Oh and by the way I work in downtown Greenville, SC over the summer, and today a guy came in wearing the exact same jersey that the guys wore in today's game (blue with the stars and stripes Curly W). It was full blown fully stitched Danny Espinosa jersey.

I had my authentic Nats road hat on, and we shared a cool "Go Nats, nice hat, nice jersey" moment.

That's pretty cool. I always have to bring a Nats hat and Nats shirt whenever I am out of state. I've got to rep them! I also want to see if any Nats fans mention anything.

The 1924 Nats hat got some mad love yesterday.  Hard not when you look this sharp:

The Tuesday and Wednesday attendances of 36,985 and 35,806 (respectively) are the Nats' best-ever against the Giants (best we ever did at RFK was 33,358 on 25th July 2006).

Average attendance is now at 29,866/fixture for this season - if we keep drawing (because winning!) at the present rate we'll crash a 30k/fixture average (for only the second time in club history) easily.
