Guzman couldn't release that ball because he would have hit the runner or his fielder in the head but we are lucky with the calls at first.  I am afraid that he was safe but sometimes thats what it takes to break out of slumps.

We definitely got a great break on that play. Isn't it too bad that baseball vigilantly ejects managers who argue with umpires, but doesn't bother to set up moderators for their message boards? The trolls are so bad at the MLB board I may never go back there...

P.S. It's nice to see Chief finally come into the ninth inning of a game WITH THE LEAD!!!

Isn't Blanco still on the roster?  He should be pinch running, so Carroll could pinch hit for Guzzy that inning.  Oh well, maybe Frank wants to keep Guzman in for defense.

Tony Blanco is on the 15 day DL

This game shouldn't have been this close.  We should have scored more runs.

Now: Atlanta must play unconscionably sloppy ball tonight and lose to the hapless D-Backs.

I don't think the Nats are ever going to win a single blowout this year---but we ARE winning, which is the point.

Hey, did anybody notice that Tony friggin' Armas, Jr. pitched a great game?  I mean, how often does that happen?  It must mean something!

Well, any Redskin fan knows that RFK can be as intimidating to visitors as Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park is in baseball. Obviously, I'd like the Nats to have a bigger lead in the NL East, but I would also like to see the stands shake again...

Thing is though, the Nats play the Braves in Atlanta, not ar RFK, but you knew that right?
