Who would the Wizards take at #1 if they got it? Nerlens Noel nor Ben Mclemore make sense in the short term, I think. Otto Porter is the best fit for this team, on and off the court.

Not being a smart ass but I hope they draft a "grown up".    As you mention, somebody who can mesh on the court and not be a distraction off the court.   IMHO ...  Beal and Wall fit this bill.    Let's build on that.

We'd trade it for a couple of washed up vetrans and a conditional second rounder

Now you're thinking like Grunfeld.   :)

McLemore. You don't pass up the chance to take the best player in the draft.

...meanwhile, Wizards STH renewals can't be going too well (couldn't have anything to do with the team's aggregate 117-277 record since their last playoff appearance, now could it?)...my ticket rep this morning thanked me both by phone AND by E-mail for renewing.

Should have held out and see if you could have gotten a better deal and/or some additional perks.

Actually it isn't a bad deal right now as it is - just $16/fixture on a full STH basis (for a very good seat in the 400's near centre court, facing the players' benches), about 1/3 the price at the gate - and when I started my plan in 2004 it was $15/fixture (compare that to comparable Capitals season tickets whose price has roughly doubled over the same span).

Cavaliers have Varejao, T-Zeller, Thompson. Magic have Nikola Vucevic. Maybe Noel slips to Washington? Doubtful but would be awesome.

I love DC's spot. Can't complain about top 3.They have both guard spots covered and I don't like Zeller with them. Maybe Otto Porter stays in DC?

The 3 spot is perfect. Now they aren't forced to take Noel and Mclemore. oladipo and Porter make SO much more sense.

Noel not ready until December. Porter or Oladipo!

My old section (lower half of section 400 over centre ice) is now $58/fixture (=$2465/season for 41 regular season plus three pre-season fixtures); cheapest ones are now in the corners at $38/fixture.

Wow!

Back on topic: looks like Noel could actually slip to the Wizards at the three spot. If the Cavs stay put, they may very well take Porter, with Mclemore a lock then at #2.

Of course, the Wizards could also trade up, too.

206 pounds at that height isn't going to work when he has to fight for position with guys 50 or 60 pounds heavier, throw in the ACL, and I'm not exactly jumping for joy- still hoping porter drops
