Nationals @ Cardinals, Game 3
« Topic Start: April 06, 2008, 11:38:12 AM »
Just wanted to get the thread started                                       Nats 3-3 After a 3-0 start Cardinals 4-1 Cardinals lead series 2-0

VS.

Line-ups

Nationals.:
SS-Cristian Guzman
CF-Lastings Milledge
3B-Ryan Zimmerman
1B-Nick Johnson
RF-Austin Kearns
C-Paul Lo Duca
2B-Felipe Lopez
LF-Rob Mackowiak
SP-John Lannan

Cardinals:
LF-Brian Barton
CF-Rick Ankiel
1B-Albert Pujols
3B-Troy Glaus
RF-Ryan Ludwick
C-Yadier Molina
SS-Cesar Izturis
2B-Adam Kennedy
SP-Kyle Lohse

More about the pitchers

John Lannan: The Nationals placed closer Chad Cordero on the disabled list on Friday night and recalled left-hander John Lannan, who will pitch against the Cardinals on Sunday at Busch Stadium. The Nationals needed a fifth starter because they didn't want right-hander Tim Redding to throw on short rest. Lannan was the Nationals' best pitcher during Spring Training, going 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA in five games. He was the Nationals' Minor League pitcher of the year in 2007.

Kyle Lohse: Lohse did everything that was asked of him in his Cardinals debut, pitching five shutout innings against a good Rockies club. His limited work in spring contributed to his being removed without facing a batter in the sixth, but he should build up his innings and pitches quickly. Lohse had a rough time against Washington last year, allowing 15 earned runs in 16 2/3 innings over five outings (three starts).

My Thoughts: Lets get one win on the road and also all you Nats fan (yes of courese me to) This could be a game were we find out what kind of potential Our Minor League Pitcher of Year had. Also please win I don't want to be 3-4.

Prediction: 4-3 Nats Lannan goes 6.2

2k6nats is going to be pissed

This is a must win game for the Nats and I see no reason why they shouldn't win. Lannan should give us a quality start and we should put up 6+ runs on Lohse.

on paper, this is the worst offensive lineup we've put out there. flop, mack, and lo duca, and no belly does not bode well. hopefully lannan can stop the bleeding and pitch a gem.

No rotation = days like this.

I'm really no longer surprised. I'm just going to sit here like a punching bag and take it.

well, i see we fell behind again with a base on balls coming back to haunt us.......and a base running error to add insult to injury.  I'll tell you, the more things change the more they stay the same.

I still can't believe we ran three straight lefties out there in this series.  St. Louis must think they have died and gone to heaven.
