Linty what the hell happened with the Bills?   I have a neighbor who is a Bills fan. His Bills flag didn't get to spend the night on the porch tonight. It got let in early.

Chan has a good offensive system... but Fitz-Magic just doesn't have an NFL arm.

No clue what happened to the revamped defense.

When's the 2013 draft?

:spit:  so you're already looking forward to Mel Kipper. It's too bad you guys have hitched your wagon to Fitzpatrick. If you were UMD at least you could brag about his high IQ and SAT scores.

and to think that the almighty (according to Tribe Time's infinite football wisdom) Colt McCoy couldn't beat him out for the position.
Weeden may suck right now, but he has far more potential for improvement than Colt. Weeden has the physical abilities to play the position, whereas Colt is a noodle-armed backup caliber player. Weeden can at least throw the ball deeper than five yards at a time; most of his misses today were actually massive overthrows, so the dude has the arm strength. We'll just have to see if he can put it all together over the course of the season. Also, to be fair, his receivers are very young and they dropped a lot of catchable balls and the o-line was awful at creating holes, which made the running game pretty much useless. Still, this loss is mostly Weeden's fault.

Weeded is 28- by the time he gets comfortable and improves,  his career will be over

If the flag during the National Anthem gives this dude problems just think how much hell Pittsburgh's zone blitz will create for him.  :lmao:

Luck had a bad game as well.

Not that Weeden is ever going to amount to anything... But some here would do well to not make judgement based off one game.

Which is why he needs to improve quickly. He doesn't have the three to four years one might give an average young QB. If he does not show improvement over the course of the year and Cleveland is in position to draft a top QB prospect next year, they should do it.

I was picking at Super Colt McCoy moreso than Weeden.

I didn't think the replacement refs would be this much of a disaster.

I loved the whole "we didn't call a time out because it was a dead ball so they get an extra timeout." fiasco. All the while Perrera is on commentary ripping them for not knowing the rules.

Regular refs make bad calls all the time but it's some of the small crap like you mentioned in which the replacements don't know the rules. Also, what happened in Detroit is freaked up. But the NFL is partly to blame for allowing the home team to operate the game clock. They should have an independent team from the NFL handle that.

i thought the refs in the cowboys-giants game were decent, but since that game ... they went downhill.

Even in the Seahawks incident I blame the NFL as well. The rule where a team is charged with a timeout on an injury with under two minutes whether the clock is running or not is dumb. The only reason that exists is so teams don't fake injuries to stop the clock and there's no point to fake an injury with the clock stopped.

Get used to these guys though because they are contracted to officiate games through at least week 3.
