Bad call on the suicide squeeze. Not the right situation.

Horrendous decision.

How does being slow factor into this? I didn't think Nieves was that slow anyway.

You can get a DP if a guy is slow enough.

Love the broken bat hits
Big Z is coming out soon. Their bullpen sucks almost as bad as ours.

They're busy subscribing to BP so they can sound as knowledgeable as you.  :lmao:

Haha, it takes more than that, my friend.  Did a nice tool make John Holmes what he was?  Uh, well, bad example, but still.

Complaints aside, one thing Riggleman has established now is that regardless of the guy in the box or the guy on 3rd (we've had the following combos: Dukes-Hammer; Nyger-Morse; Nieves-Dukes) with a guy on 3rd and less than 2 outs, the squeeze could be on. He should really not do it for the rest of the season and see if he gets success with a counter strategy.

+1

It's always good to deviate from conventional wisdom once in a while and make your opponents think anything is on at any time.

I played 3B too and I tend to believe that throws have to be executed.

I'm so old I was a fan of Don Hoak and Eddie Mathews (LOL)l

But a decent 1B will help with less than perfect throws.  I didn't see it.  How bad was the throw and how did it pull Dunn off the bag?

Sounds like Zimm nailed a Cubs fan with his broken bat.  Did anybody see it?

it was a long throw. just a little short. probably would have been scooped up by most first basemen.

Dunn was practically doing the splits, got the ball in the glove but didn't hold onto it.

It was in the dirt and off to Dunn's right.

Then yes.  Zimmerman should've made a better throw.
