I don't mean I want to heckle the guy. Maybe like a "hey, good job" and see how he reacts. I've disliked him because I always thought he came off smug. I wanted to see if I was right or wrong and if I was hating for no reason 
That's a good line to open up with. I used to say to announcers (Bob Prince as an example) "Thanks, well done." I was amazed at how much he appreciated that and seemed genuinely a nice guy. However, I heard he could be a real prick after a few adult beverages.
