Tweet, from Amanda Comak...
Quote
@acomak
Zimmerman said joint decision among Davey, the trainers and himself to sit tonight. Doesn't want to do worse damage. Expects to play tmrw
What did I miss? Is he hurt? Or did tweet just have a strange tone?

Edit: He's out with hamstring soreness.

Our hitting, pitching (both starting and bullpen) and defense is killing us.  This is not the way this year was supposed to start.

This is never going to go away.  You can see the stress on his face every time he throws the ball.  Yesterday I was watching him warm up with LaRoche, simple tosses from around home plate to first, LaRoche was throwing without thinking, Zimmm was concentrating on every motion.

Time to start shopping LaRoche, we may need to eat a chunk of his contract, but Ryan is going to crack if he's left at third too much longer.

For the people at the game today, how loud was the booing of Zimmerman?

Not too loud after the first error, I wasn't there for the second error. I did let Zach Duke know exactly what I thought about his pathetic performance however, freaking bum.

Lots of debate on Twitter about whether the booing was warranted.  No one arguing that he doesn't deserve it based on his play, just that his past performance should exempt him.

In the 7 games prior to today,  LaRoche was hitting .524 with some walks thrown in.

We can't shop Zimmerman. And Zim has to move to first to make room for Rendon.

Actually, we should get rid of Tracy (which goes without saying), call up Rendon and split time between Rendon and Zimmerman at third and Zimmerman and LaRoche at first.

Yep, it's a matter of contracts, not performance.

Didn't help his throwing. And if he needs them again, now, may as well just DL him

I haven't entered this discussion previously but the throwing motion is forced. He "thinks" it before he throws it. It is like someone forced to eat something distasteful and is too embarrased to do anything but smile. His looks after the error were pained. I don't think he is going to recover anytime soon. The more routine the play and the more time he has to throw is his undoing. He "looks" the ball into the glove rather than just throwing the ball.

I think Duke is on the way to Syracuse. He earned that right after todays performance.

Strras is no better with his body language. The saint has chinks in his armour and DJ better put him on notice to "man up". Errors happen. Great pitchers continue to get outs.

I would say it was more a non-reaction to his plate appearances than it was any booing...the silence was deafening...

I don't see LaRoche being on this team next year. Zim's throwing problems are 0% physical and 100% mental. They aren't going away. Plus he's a fat bum who always gets injured. Maybe playing first base will actually keep him off the DL for a full year, although that's asking a lot out of him these days.
