I liked that even with the pitcher on deck, Figueroa challenged the number 8 hitter. Now the pitcher has to lead off next inning. With the wind blowing it may be wise to challenge hitters and take your chance.

Exactly but perhaps that was a call from the dugout because they expected them to pitch around him and they could get Perez out of the way for next inning. That's the philosophy we employ in similar situations
