He's due over 35 million from 2011-2013. I doubt the Lerners would take on that salary.

Pretty sure you're just :stir: but I think you're wrong anyway.  Not that it matters, he's not going anywhere.

C'mon dude, don't hate just because he's one of ASSCLOWN's boys.  He's usually pretty clutch wRISP.

i don't have faith in bernadina because i just don't think he'll pan out to be a regular (and i don't know how good he'll be as a 4th/5th OF).

and nieves is an okay back-up, but we play him sometimes 1-2 times a week and we've seen what he can do (not much) and can't.  the only purpose he serves is being lannan's personal catcher (although riggs won't admit it).

No I'm being serious. I'm not saying they wouldn't take on that number. I'd like to think they would but they haven't shown that they are willing to do so at this time. So you're saying I'm wrong about them not showing a willingness to take on that salary?

They're paying Dunn 10m a year, you don't think they'd be willing to pay that much for a starter of JJ's caliber?

I would to, but the way Dunn moved back, the team had no chance if Kennedy wasn't there.

The Lannan ball 4 was close, but I agree with most of his edge calls.  Bob and Rob were saying that one of Johnson's pitches painted the black, but the replay with the box showed it a good 6-8" outside, a good call as a "ball".  I bet the pitch f/x would back the ump's calls so far.

Whoa, Zimmerman/Caveman GEICO crossover commercial.

They should just buy the naming rights already.

Pitch F/X goes by the book, of course it will confirm the umps call. If all Umps called the games by Pitch F/X, there would be a lot of football scores.

Pitch F/X calls the edges nicely, but not top or bottom, which should vary by rule for each batter, but the Pitch F/x system seems locked at some average size strike zone.

They're paying Dunn 12 million this year and while I believe they would pay that much for a starter of JJ's caliber, as you asked, I doubt they would pay both Dunn AND JJ at this point in time. I'm only basing that on their 4 year history with the Nationals. The one thing to consider is that we have 20 million coming off the books again this year when you figure in Guzman's and Dunn's expiring contracts. Of course it would be wise for them to use most of that to re-sign Dunn. Dunn can try to test the FA market and see if he can get 20 million after Howard's deal but I see no way in the world he gets it. I could be wrong on that but I just don't see it. But if they ink him to a reasonable extension that should still leave some money to use towards improving the team without even exceeding this year's salary number! But at some point they have to increase that number, at least I hope so.

Once again, replay shows the ump's call correct on Dunn's ball 4.

They never seem to acknowledge when they're (Bob and Rob) wrong about the call.

Too bad, Cody Ross almost screws up big time.
