My thought is that it's annoying how the first and last month are all divisional foes, with everyone else between. Call me crazy, but I get bored of seeing the same teams for a month straight. Mix it up a little bit.

The Nats can't be happy with this schedule, they could have had 2, 3, 4, or 5 games against the Yankees and Red Sox and they got the minimum and against the less popular of the two.  They also got the Os as weeknight games in September, great if both teams are making playoff runs, but also some of the least attended games of the season. Anyone buying 2015 ticket plans for playoff priority with the hopes of selling off their extras can't be happy.

The series in Pittsburgh starts on the night of the last day of school and covers Father's Day, should make for a heck of a summer road trip, throwing in Gettysburg, Hershey Park, and the Pennsylvania Dutch on the drive home.

Exactly.  I stick with my group for one more year because we were playing the AL East next year. And then they come up with this schedule.

The Pirates series in late June is a home series - the Nats go to Pittsburgh for four starting on July 23.

And the Red Sox fans were the worst fans I've seen in a baseball game

Really mad no Red Sox here.  They have been in only once, in '09

Ah thanks, I misread that, still works though since it is a summer vacation away series.

The worst fans I've ever seen at a game were the guys sitting behind the Red Sox fans in front of us back in 2009.

Ever see them at OPACY?  Mon dieu

[edit: no worse than any other massive enemy fan invasion anywhere else I suppose...the thing about being from DC is that I will probably never, ever be on the winning end of such a phenomenon unless we meet the Fish in the NLCS]

Redskins fans did a pretty good job of filling the stadium down in Tampa for the playoff games there.

And we were a good solid plurality of Caps fans at Heinz at the 2010 WC, but by major crowd invasion I'm thinking 75%-80%...was it like that in Tampa??

No, not even close, but I don't think I've ever seen it worse than 50/50 here.

Opening day 2010 must have been 75% Phucks.  And some of those Caps games in 2004 or so certainly seemed that way.  Never mind DC United vs Real Madrid.

I think that the 2010 OD was exaggerated, certainly in the 100s it was mostly Nats fans.

[...]They also got the Os as weeknight games in September, great if both teams are making playoff runs, but also some of the least attended games of the season.[...]

Actually the two Nats Park fixtures against the Orioles this season have been the 2nd and 24th best-attended matches of the season thus far (the rain-out make-up on Monday 4th August and the 7th July regularly scheduled match, respectively) - strong turn-outs by Angelos' loyal robots assured the announced attendances of 42,181 and 35,126 respectively.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see the crowds for those games, weeknight games in September have almost no resale value, even against the Braves, but the Os fans in this area definitely take advantage of the chance to see their team with a shorter drive in a nicer park.

So...I think I might come to DC and catch a series, either Memorial or Labor Day weekend.

Pittsburgh's a road trip that I'm already planning!
