Oh, God. You invited in the Holy Warriors to take up the cause... ;)

Apple is great as long as you are willing to commit to buying their products exclusively for the rest of your life.

She has an android phone now that she's constantly messing around with. She's not a tech geek or anything, but she's smart enough to figure things out given enough time. Besides, I'm pretty good with that stuff too, though it's usually just messing around until I get something.

then look at the new nexus if it meets her needs, otherwise you can get a chromebook for less than $500.

I phone is starting to die, and I'm sick of apple, so I have a choice - HTC OneX or SGIII- anyone have experience with either?

Also, is there a way of importing contacts with out getting years of gmail contacts (years of previous jobs/schools/reams of junk mail) in my phone's call list?

What'd you get?  And what do you mean "delete home screens?"  Like remove icons from the home screen?

SG3- I'm loving it. I figured it out- I just wanted to know how to get rid if the absurd number if home screens it came with (primarily Samsung media). Now my only question is does hiding an application stop it from using resources- I hid certain applications, but when I went into ram booster, they were still sucking  ram.

The GPS sucks on my SGIII. No idea why. When I had my Incredible in Houston, it gave me quick location. This phone gives me a 400m circle. WTF

Stupid bloatware crap.  That's why I went with a Galaxy Nexus and if I got something like and SG3 or whatever, I'd root it and put on Cyanogen Mod 10 or some form of AOSP Jellybean.

supposedly official jelly bean will be pushed late August/early September, so I'll at least wait until then to play with custem Roms, but aside from deleting bloatware, I don't see the need. on another note, I'm now seeing how terrible iOs is and damn micro sd cards are small

I went iPhone -> iPhone 3GS -> iPhone 4.  The 4S wasn't anything better than the 4 and I was growing tired of iOS so I went to Android with the GNex.  Loving it so far.

those with SIII, how is your battery life? That has been my only complaint after having used mine for like 3 weeks now.

heavy use during work (ill refresh twitter/facebook/email constantly, occassionally play a game here and there) and ill be at 50% around 1 pm and around 40 at 530. haven't had a problem, especially compared to my last phone that died by noon.

Quick question about bluetooth- my phone is paired to my car, but when i get into my car, it's not just a matter of toggling on blue tooth- in stead,i have to switch it on, manually connect it and manually select the car speakers for phone and media- is there an app that automates this?
