Must See Movie
« Topic Start: April 25, 2007, 10:43:37 PM »
If you haven't seen it , you have to see Facing the Giants!  A friend recommended it and it was awesome.  True story.  Small Christian school in GA having 6 losing seasons and then things change.  It does have an incredibly strong Christian message, but is a truly wonderful and inspiring story!

I also heard about this movie, and I want to see it.  Haven't had the chance to visit the video store lately.

Well the cool part is that Andrew totally understood it!  And he's only 7 1/2.  They talked about giving your best and how important humility is and of course, turning everything over to God and relying on Him to provide.  But we were all incredibly moved by the movie!!!

Be forewarned, you won't want to return it.  Andrew immediately asked if we could keep it!

I would also like to take this time to recommend the wholesome family movie "Grindhouse" which also carries an inspirational message of life after death and how one should never take a ride from strangers.  ;)

The movie, as well as many other great inspirational movies, can be purchased at (appropriately) Christian Cinema for $16.90 or if you prefer used DVDs, through Amazon.com for as little as $10.

Might have to skip this one. I got enough unintentional religion this week via my new cubicle neighbors having bible discussion about how eve was created and one of the women telling everybody who asked her "how are you?" that she was "blessed" in an uppity holier that thou (literally) sort of way.

Is there such thing as religious harassment? Based on what I've learned about sexual harassment (we've all seen the videos), what I've experienced this week is pretty analogous.

Nothing but God-free entertainment for me

Well at least she didn't go about greeting everyone as the Apostle Paul suggested, "With a holy kiss."

You poor guy.  You'll be ok.  If you make a stink about it, they'll start praying for you.  So be careful.  ;)

Re office missionaries (and every office has them), I usually lie and tell them that I am a devout churchgoer and I spend my evenings watching "Touched by an Angel" reruns...this usually has the desired effect.

I would probably try to mess with them and tell them that I consistenly break all the commandments as long as it doesnt land me in jail.
