Has anyone watched the show Damages?  I think people get turned off that it seems like a typical law/court serial, but it has some of the best plot development I've ever seen.

Wife and I just started watching The Killing. Like it pretty well so far.

I was strongly considering getting into that, but then I heard the finale just totally sucks balls and couldn't be bothered.

What happened, from what little I know of it, is they decided to turn the original Danish series - which was something like 22 60-minute episodes - into a typical American 13-episode 44-minute run, but to fit all the storyline in, they made the mystery two seasons long instead of one season. And none of the audience knew this so they expected the season one finale to solve the mystery. This is just what I read somewhere, I could be wrong. But apparently they're following the Danish original fairly closely - the website I read this info on said something like "expect more characters to start dying."

H-nat - you are correct sir.  Personally, I like "The Killing" but I didn't follow it when it aired last year, I marathoned it a week or so ago.

I like watching scenes from the various castles, because then you see all the sexual hijinks, but I must admit I'm most taken with the Night Watch characters.

The "sexual hijinks" come across so unnecessary and hamfisted in the show. Especially the added scenes that weren't in the books.

I hate how all these serial dramas have competitions for weirdest and most screwed up sex scenes.

Yeah, I thought the sex was way way way overdone this most recent episode. It felt out of place with the rest of the series and forced I hope this isn't a new trend.

I heard they actually built it up nicely throughout most of the series, but the finale was completely nonsensical and ruined a lot of the intrigue and character development.

But I think I remember PA griping about it and now he's all :az: over the season 2 premiere, so maybe the series will turn out well after all.

Season 2 is off to a really good start.  My only complaint, so far, is that they don't have Michelle Forbes in pasties and a g-string dancing to "Girls, Girls, Girls."

Also, Botswana Special ending credits.

It was one of the US specials I think that they were all something like "Bubba Clarkson" and "Billy Bob May."

It's funny but Tutu is one of the most inspiring speakers I have ever heard.

Current plan is for Netflix to post all of Arrested Development season 4 for streaming at the same time. Definitely taking a vacation day.
