Peavy's pitch count is already over 100.

Yeah, I was just checking, 105 vs. Livan's 77.

Livo only has 77 ... wow ... What do you think guys, maybe our first complete game of the year??

yo!

fresh off of work.  what'd I miss? besides Soriano hitting another game-starting HR?

I got that Text alert on my phone while I was at work.  was it a first-pitcher?

that's 5 Ks for Livan this game.  This reminds me of the way he was last year.  Whatever he had for breakfast this morning...he needs to keep eating it.

Well, uh, keep on eating measured portions of it, you mean, not continuously, right?
only if it was Turtle soup there buddy.

apparently the Padre hitting coach got thrown out during the commercial break argueing balls and strikes.  Awww...waah waah.  Now here's a quarter- call somebody who gives a hoot!    Alrightie then...bye-bye now.

Ha, just heard that someone from the Padres bullpen was thrown out complaining about the umps calls for Livo ... I suppose turnabout is fair play ...

Yay, he's gone. Let's hope the Pads send out their bad relievers like we did last night.

18 of Peavy's pitches were eaten up by two Nick at-bats!

He's doing much better, the time in the minors seemed to have really worked for him ..

slightly humorous little tale.

at about 4:07 (give or take a minute) this afternoon, I was at work assisting a Customer when my Phone goes off.  it is my Text Message ringtone.

Now, I signed up for the Mobile Text Alerts from MLB.com, and I know that the game started at 4:05.  so it immediately comes to my attention that getting a text message at 4:07, when I know the first pitch time was 4:05 could only mean one thing.

the Customer I was assisting heard my ring tone(because it is Music, and it is loud), and looked at me quizzically, as if to say "ummm you know your phone is ringing right?"  so I look at my customer with a huge grin on my face and I say...

"Soriano just hit a Leadoff Home Run."

Customer(who happened to be wearing a Nationals Road Cap) says "Oh..........................really? that's what that was?  alright!!"

and then I took my phone out, flipped it open, and showed him the Text Message.

it's the little things that make Baseball so worth following. :)

nice battle by Brian Schneider to get on base.  And Livan's staying in to hit.  Why not?   :D
