I'd hope that Meyers and Norris goes. If Espinosa is eligible let him go. A.J. Morris and Brad Peacock are decent candidates. I hope that the Nats don't waste spots on fringe prospect like they used to do under Bowden.

I'm confident that even if he ends up hitting .240, it'll at least be with some pop... thus making it a lot more tolerable.

I haven't seen him personally but he looks to have Brian Schneider (in his good days) type of potential. Average eye, decent pop, decent contact hitter and good defence ( which is valuable for a catcher).

I maybe underrated his ceiling, he maybe has better ceiling then that but I like judging a player's abilities on long season ball stats ( even if it's single A). Although, looking at his batting averages, he seems to be a better contact hitter then I give him credit for.I think it would be great to have .280, 20hr's and 60 rbi's from him every year. He looks like a good prospect, he can hit and play defence, good trade by Rizzo.

I would love to keep Pudge around to work with Ramos and the pitchers. I'd even give him another 2-year deal as the backup catcher.

I agree. If we can keep Pudge around at a team friendly price, I think it's a win/win. He may bring little to the plate now offensively, but he can be an excellent mentor to our young catchers and pitching staff.

We should atleast offer Pudge a third year here. Let him finish here and try to keep him as a coach. I want him to retire as a National. Would love to see him be the first HOFer with ties to the Washington Nationals. Would love to hear him mention us a couple times.

I think if he ends up playing three years here and if those three years include our first ever winning season and(cross your fingers)a playoff appearance in his farewell tour, I think he'd talk happily about his short time here. With Strasburg, a reliatively new ball park, and the talent coming up, he could be a part of something exciting.

What? He's a freaking awful player at this point. Still a solid defensive catcher but he's a complete joke batting. He shouldn't make anything more than the minimum at this point.

Rodriguez is sure not the player he used to be....but he's still solid defensively, he's hitting .277 (admittedly tailing off after a strong start), he hustles and is a great role model for younger players, and he's going to the freaking Hall of Fame. I just don't know why you wouldn't want him around for another year.
