Just Gio being Gio. :)

One of the reasons I LOVE Gio! I don't mind serious and focused players, and I admire those players, but it is nice to see players who can have fun.

Also, terrible call. Harper had the right to be angry.

Freaking egotastic strikeout call.

Zero respect for this ump if he saw it for what it was.

Did Bryce get rung?

Called strike 3, 6 inches out the bottom and outside. Didn't get ejected but he sure gave Hernandez a piece of his mind.

Bryce should've broke the bat over Angel's head.

I think his parents named him Angel for ironic or sarcastic reasons.

This is a totally objective question, and not an emotional one...

Is there anything Bryce could learn be it mechanically, or just for the mental break and seeing inferior pitching by going down to Syracuse for a week or two?

I'm not swung it should happen, and davey loves him so it won't, but does it have merit to spell him?

Anyone who reads the boards often knows I'm a huge Harper fan and there's no anger or disappointment in this post, just think it might be worth consideration

Probably. The real question, I think, is if he will be harmed long term by an unsuccessful stint in the majors. For a long time, I thought he'd be immune to it. I still hope that's the case.

My understanding of the umps is that they hire good ol' boys.  What I'm trying to say is that MLB apparently has filled positions through nepotism.  The sport is infusing youth at the player level, coaching level, and managerial level so maybe it's time to infuse some youth at the umpiring level.

No way would I call it unsuccessful, his impact has been great but he's just slumping

Real competitors don't take vacation.  A valid reason to send him down is for a mechanical tweak, but this looks like plate discipline and approach.  I think he's going to come out of it sooner than later, personally.

Can't throw curve for a strike. They can sit on fastball

Seems like a lot of curly W's at the stadium.

The last two games there were so many as well.  Bob and FP randomly picking kids (with curly W's, Washington, even one with a UMD shirt) for rallies.  They had like 2893427937842 kids to choose from.

Was wondering if they were all visiting Houston?  Transplants?  Natives getting restless with the Stros?

How to let the Astros back in the game: balks, walks, wild pitches.

How to beat the Astros?

Pop-up bunt and/or shark attack.
