Lannan has to know this is likely his last start so he'd better be on his A game.

Lannan, why do you hate us?

The better question is why Mike Rizzo hates us for bringing him up here when he was doing this in AA. John is just being John, poor guy can't help it.

Ball 4 was close, according to MLB, but still.

Lannan needs to stay in the minors until he fixes himself.  If that means we don't see him in 2011, so be it.

Score more runs!  I don't have a lot of confidence that Lannan will keep the Dodgers down.

I would point out Lannan did this on Sunday, settled down totally for the rest of the game other than giving up a remarkable number of runners without having them score. So all hope is not lost. It's just is this the rare game Lannan settles down on, or is it one where he gets worse as he goes on. We'll see how the second inning goes, but Lannan is getting really lucky these two games. Double play, really, really, really lucky. He should have given up several runs by now between Sunday and today, and instead only 2.

I wouldn't feel confident with only 3 runs even with Strasburg on the mound.

I would.  I wouldn't expect Strasburg to give up 4 runs.

And Pudge hits another DP ball... Only good thing? There's no one else on base to get the second out.

I would.  With the way the D has been lately, plus knowing that he'd only get to go 7 innings at best.  I don't have as much faith in the pen as I had earlier in the year.

Finally someone in the media acknowledges that Dunn isn't a terrible fielder anymore... now he's just adequate at best.

Gonzalez should hit ahead of Pudge.

I really wish AlGo could be this kind of player for us all the time.  Couple starts here and there, can come in off the bench, sparkling D and a solid contact hitter.

How about some of the national media talking heads doing it?

I think Maxwell has a new stance every time I see him come back up.

None of them work.

Hey, he's given up 2 ER in his first six innings back in the majors after getting destroyed his last five starts in AA. Granted, he's had 10 baserunners in those 6 innings. True, he's just been really, really, really lucky, but so far... Who cares if it's skill or luck as long as it continues?

And Kershaw is owning us and finding his groove after a rough start up until Dunn's HR.

I don't know that Maxwell will ever cut it as a starter in the MLB.
