Does anyone remember the dude with no arms that threw the first pitch at a Nats game in San Diego a couple of years ago? He was on TV today (has now done it at 1/3 of the stadiums around the league) and says he is from Washington and was a Senators fan. He said his favorite player was Del Unser and his dream is to throw the first pitch to Unser. Unser is currently in the Phillies organization and they're going to try to get it done. Do some of you remember Del Unser?

Absolutely remember Unser.  He had an exaggerated closed stance when at-bat.  I imititated it and it ruined what little pop I had.   :?

:lmao:  I don't fully remember the time he threw the first pitch in San Diego but I recall Debbi Taylor saying something stupid about it afterward.

Reminds me of "No-arms" Johnson the pinch runner in the early 1900s who invented the head first slide  :)

May I ask what purpose having Maxwell on the roster serves if he can't hit and can't field?

Can't field?  I put that error on Nyjer.

And offensively, Maxwell is a grand slam specialist.  He's got 3 now in just over 200 PA's.  Compare to Jeter, who has 1 in over 10,000 PA's.   If Jeter hit them at the same rate, he'd have over 150 by now.

Just going by the box.  He has two errors tonight.

Someone should tweet Lame Duck an ask him if that popout by Dunn just now was an improvement - in his opinion - over the previous strikeout.  You know, have him tell us how much more productive it was.

Nyjer had to take the subway to get to that ball.... while Maxwell was standing there and calling it... and Nyjer still charged right into him

Totally Nyjer's fault.

 at all the people defending Maxwell, didn't realize he was so popular.  I like the guy too but come on fellas.  If this team is ever any good he's gone gone gone.

But why pick on his fielding? He's an excellent fielder.

Say what you want about his hitting... but you can't question his fielding.

Only got the error in LF because he touched the ball... even though Nyjer ran into him.

He's not popular, it's just that this one definitely isn't on him.

The second error was Morgan's fault.

And Ron Villone will stay tied for the all-time lead with Clippard.

Amazing.
