I would hope that the people compiling the data are noting ballpark effects. Play first at Coors blows for the first 4-5 innings cause you have to face a setting sun.

I'm not sure what my point was but blue is close to nailing it for me.   :)

Didn't Ott play in the Polo Grounds

Well, half his games, yes.

I guess that means Harper plays 1/2 his games at Nats' Park.

Bryce Harper needs to CALM DOWN. Smashing his bat once after an AB is fine - and he apologized for it (this was a couple of weeks ago). I thought he had learned his lesson. Well, apparently not!

I admire passion for the game, but it seems like he can't control himself out there.

Kilgore tweet after the Braves game:

Quote
Harper on Prado's double over his head: "S---, he pissed on it." Ballplayer talk never gets old.

I'll bet Bryce Harper has the filthiest mouth on the team.

Bar him hitting a growth spurt (and turning into a 1B), I think Bryce Harper will eventually win a gold glove in the outfield.

The crazy throws and forgetting about the cutoff man are rookie mistakes. He'll fix that problem before long.

He won't win it hitting .250 with 12 homers. Isn't half the hitter Trout is.

Yeah, because he is destined to average .250 and hit 12 homers a year his whole career. Because all 19 year olds, including Trout, are destined to tear it up right away.

Your shtick makes Dmitri Young frown.

Trout wasn't half the hitter he is now - last year.

The stats are the facts. He isn't getting it done in the second half.

Harper would not have been playing in the first half except that the Nats had so many injuries. He hits like a kid who has not yet developed. Can he develop in the majors, during a pennant race? Maybe, but maybe the Nats should give more time to Bernadina and Moore.

I'm worried about #Nats OF Bryce Harper. He was "destroying helmets on the run way" after he was taken out on a double switch on Sunday.
That's unfortunate.

You could argue that Lombo and Roger Bernadina should be playing over Bryce Harper. #Nats #MLB
McRocketskittles reports more "no one needs to know" stories than any other beat writer, and he is the one who works for the MLB. Professional troll.

That came only a short while after this tweet:

@SCNatsFan He is just in a slump. He will get over it. I'm not worried about [Harper]. He has to make adjustments.

I've actually been thinking that Bryce might be having some sort of personal, off the field problems.  I mean, he's 19 and thousands of miles away from home.  The private lives of 19 years olds are complex, especially if he's dealing with it by himself.

Is it a slump if it's lasted 60 games?

Harper should be angry he got double switched. He's the star of the team.

NANF.

He's performing to be expected. As I said before he was called up, Nats would likely get better production out of Bernadina/generic OF'er THIS year.

Hoping he can find something soon.

What a bad couple of posts.

The fact is he will end up a superstar... He is 19 years old. 19!

Okay, you could be right. But it doesn't change the fact that he isn't ready yet.

Sure, Harper will be a superstar, but recall that at about the same age A-Rod was benched and beat out by Luis Sojo in 1995 when the Mariners made a big run from behind to the ALCS.

I still think we are a better team with Harper playing than on the bench. I'm just getting uncomfortable with him hitting 2d when he is in a slump.  I'd prefer him back around 6th or 7th in the order until he works things out, with spot duty for Moore against most lefties.

We need him and ALR hitting to avoid teams stacking RHP against us.
