Solis is supposed to start in Potomac when he gets off the DL. But other than that that'd definitely be an interesting rotation I'm interested to see what Tyler Hanks(Harper JuCo teamate) can do as well.

I think the Short Season team should have a fun rotation.

Cole
Ray
Solis (?) - If he gets healthy
Estevez - If he over matches GCL play/Maybe they skip GCL altogether?
Not sure it means much but milb.com doesn't have Estevez listed on Auburn's roster.

Ray and Cole are there, though.

Those were the guys that were on last year's team that haven't been reassigned yet.

Labrie isn't even in the organization.

Darn, thought I had uncovered something cool

Labrie should have given it away, though.

GMUtrckstar is right ... i think Cole is still in extended spring training, he'll throw a couple games for Class A Short Season and then move on to Hagerstown.

Got to see Cole working a side session in minor league camp this spring. He was working on mechanics. He's a big, young, raw talent, who could develop into a dominant presence on the mound. Hard to believe he was such a young kid. Looking forward to seeing him as part of the team's future.

Cole and Ray promoted to Hagerstown:

Quote
Nationals high draft picks A.J. Cole and Robbie Ray have been promoted to the low Single-A Hagerstown Suns. Cole starts Saturday and replaces Cameron Selik who was promoted to high Single-A Potomac.
"They are both throwing very well in extended (spring training)," Nationals pitching coordinator Spin Williams said. "We wanted to give them an opportunity to pitch under the lights."
Ray will start Monday for the Suns and replaces Taylor Jordan. Jordan is being placed on the seven-day disabled list after he was hit on the forearm with a pitch. Williams said they are being cautious with Jordan now by placing him on the disabled list.
Jordan has had an outstanding start to the season, going 5-0 with a 2.39 ERA.

Figured this was coming, especially after the promotion of Selik.  Hagerstown's rotation was pretty weak and the addition of these two will certainly bolster it.

I'm really hopeful that Cole will develop into at least a number 3 starter and hopefully a true #1 or 2. I imagine he's at least 3 or 4 years away but what is his current prognosis?

i think Cole could be a #2 over JZ, but that's just ceiling talk.

Don't. I've heard nothing but bad things about MiLB video service.

Final line due to pitch count.

3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K

Good start!

Ok, maybe a near 2 WHIP isn't good, but hey, he's 19... give him some time!

I don't care about the line as much as how his pitchers were. Does anyone know if he was hitting his spots? What the speed of his pitchers were?

out of all of our pitching prospects currently in our system, he'd probably have to go down as my favorite.

Why do they cut his innings so short?

Either hit a pitch limit or are conserving his innings so they don't over extend his arm, a year out of HS.
