I know that. The only pitchers who could be worth that are Bedard, Harden, or Washburn. I want nothing to do with those guys especially Harden and Bedard's injury histories. Plus, no one wants to come here so we are going to have to overpay for somebody.
Lackey could pull a pretty penny too if he hits the FA market.  There was a point where those talks weren't going so well, but I'm not sure where those talks stand.

He walked the pitcher and then walked NJ to load the bases. Had he not walked the pitcher we would've been out of this inning already. Of course what Belliard did was inexcusable as well.

If Lackey comes to the Nats, he is going to want something like 5/80. No way I would pay a veteran that when we should be throwing our young starters out there and seeing who can stick and who can't. When we are scheduled to compete, Lackey will be out of his prime and a burden on our roster. That is why signing 30+ veterans to long term deals is stupid for this team.
