Looking ahead to the Milwaukee seriesCollin Balester vs. CC Sabathia. NOW that is an intriguing matchup.
My guess is we'll lose that one. Sabathia is truly untouchable right now.
It will give Collin his first really big test. He won the Cy Young last year and is a 3 time All Star.
Boone is returning soon. Who will get sent down? Langerhans?
It's more of a test for our offense, but the Brewers have some big bats for Balester to worry about.
do we have any dead weight left to jettison? i mean position players.
Do you guys think that Dukes could be a true #3 or #4 hitter by next year?
A lot of great pitchers thrive off of pitching against a cy young winner, and turn on their afterburners.Sure, he has to worry about the offense, but see if he tries to pitch to a whole new level.
I do.
Not really. Gonzalez and Langerhans might be the only options.
Kearns is really starting to turn it around, also Guzman should be back soon. Maybe not as soon as Zimmerman and Dukes though.
Orr?
I'm wondering about that b/c if the FO believes he will be by next year, they may hold off on signing/trading for a big bat.
True. That's the best option. I still don't even think of that guy as part of this team.
Orr had the biggest hit of the game last night.
btw, Belliard > Phillips. Belly accomplished more in 1 pinch hit ab, than Phillips did all series.
