What are you listening to? (2008-2011)
« Topic Start: November 09, 2008, 08:11:59 PM »
Let's talk about music!!

I'm currently listening to the Symphony No 3 by Philip Glass. For those who've never heard Glass before, the following article about Glass is written in the same style as his music: http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Philip_Glass

Here's a music thread that was started a while ago. Plenty of people posted artists that they like.

Yes, but what are they listening to right now? 8)

I just finished listening to the album "Pretty. Odd." by Panic at the Disco. Or possibly it was a Beatles tribute band. Can't tell which ;)

Been listening to the AC/DC channel on XM radio for a couple of hours...they are kind of the Wagner of the mid 20th Century.  Violence and twat.

Well I'm not going to the 9:30 club anymore!

Quote
New Jersey Councilman Steven Lipski has been arrested for urinating on a crowd of concert goers at Washington's 9:30 club Saturday night, the New York Daily News reports.

The New York Daily News reports in Sunday's editions that two-term Jersey City councilman Steve Lipski has been charged with simple assault.

The councilman was reportedly extremely drunk while attending a concert at the establishment and proceeded to relieve himself onto several concert goers from a second-level balcony.

Club sources also tell the Daily News that this is not the first drunken incident involving the 44-year-old New Jersey councilman at the Washington nightclub, adding that it was, however, the first time he had urinated on someone.

My son's overjoyed that they started up the Led Zep channel last week.  And I'm looking forward to the Grateful Dead channel starting this week.

Currently "Samain Night" by Loreena McKennitt. Soothing Celtic music for background noise while I work.

He's lucky he made it out of there alive...had he pulled that stunt at last tuesday's Bad Brains show, he would have been picking up his teeth.

Good thing there's a dr. in the band. I heard tickets were impossible to get for that show.

H.R. from Bad Brains is doing a solo show in Wilmington, NC on the 23rd at the Soapbox. Small venue, very personal. Might have to pick up some tix.

Currently coming out of my headphones: "Where I'm Going" by Kottonmouth Kings

We noticed XM changed many of their stations this week.  The merged with Sirius must be complete, for they are now cqalling themselves "SiriusXM"

I've been listening to a lot of Harry Connick Jr. lately.

Since Sally teaches choral at FAU, and likes the classical stuff, and I'm usually listening to something like AC/DC, I guess this is a compromise.

I'm still trying to figure this all out.  My son is in love with XM 39, Led Zeppelin 24/7.  The new "Margueritaville", is pretty good if you're into Buffett / surf music / related compatible sounds. And each Sunday at 5 pm, they have "Feats at Five", an hour of Little Feat.    :woop:

Very soon, they are cranking up a 24/7 Dead channel - no, not "Nat of the Living Dead", but "Grateful Dead".

That is going to entice my channel changing habits quite a bit I think.    :)
