You could put sriracha on a fresh steaming pile of dogcrap and it would probably taste pretty decent.

Yeah, I saw the pic of the dude responsible for that abortion and could only think "douchebag".  The burger wasn't bad, but you can get a better and cheaper burger (and fries) at Wendy's.  The sauces are REALLY good though.

Country steaks (basically thin junk cuts of pork) on the grill tonight- so good, double thick by strips (best thing Costco sells) for the grill tomorrow, I'm in an insanly good mood

He does seem like a pretentious freakwad.  Just look at the menu there.  I can't stand places that take a burger and try to make it into some weird, Thai-Mexican taco salad fusion food.

Looks like I'm solo in Brawltimore tomorrow for a day of cycling, head cleaning, and baseball. Really too bad I have that damn seafood allergy...

They looked burnt in the pic MDS posted.

Fries should be well browned.

Not at all.  Being cold and too limp is another issue, though.

the fries were  not an accident.  that's how mine came out.  The burger is a disgrace.  Maybe the sauces are kick butt, but if that is the case, don't hype the cruddy burgers already sauced.  Just give you the pick of sauces and ingredients if you are going to rip people off for something that McD's would call a hamburger and not even a quarter pounder.

sorry, but i just dont think burgers are ever that good. yeah some are better than others, but they arent worthy of being worshipped ever. some tacos are amazing, some sausage can be amazing, some sandwiches are amazing. burgers are never amazing, oh you put a freaking egg and bacon and onion rings on it. how about we dont dilute the eggs, bacon, and onion rings with ground beef and a bun? if i opened a restaurant tomorrow and put ice cream on a burger, some freaking idiot would buy it.  put some fois gras on it. stop this crap. its bland crappy beef. fine give me the fatty delicious stuff. you know when that is good? when i am hungover and can't stomach anything else.

and once you are willing to cross the "this is clearly bad for me" threshold, just get fried chicken or fried fish

My favorite burgers are simple, 80/20 beef cooked on the grill with ketchup and some grilled onions.

A fried egg on a burger is the cooked version of steak tartare with a raw quails egg on it.  I'm down with the cooked version.

Just made a batch of homemade marshmallows (Alton Brown's recipe), I'll post some pics when I turn them out and cut them. But I licked the mixture off the beaters and it tasted fantastic. They'll need a few hours to set up.

Also - decided that Memorial Day is a good day for real barbecue - cooking with smoke. Grabbed a whole chicken and split it and rubbed it up.

And then set it on the smoker and went to the pool for 3 hours. Come home and...
