Beal looks like their best player. Wall looks like the same guy he was as a rookie. I hope they don't give Wall a max contract.

Good game last night. Okafor is great on the boards and defensively. Ariza also had a good game. It wouldn't be the worst thing at all if Ariza comes back next year. And unless they can get someone better than Okafor, they should probably keep him too.

In a game where Wall puts up 11 assists to 2 turnovers, makes a couple of 4th quarter jumpers, and hits key FTs down the stretch, he looks like he did when he was a rookie? Even if that was true, as a rookie he was a 3-to-1 assist to turnover PG and the reality is his jump shot, and especially his free throws, are improving quickly. He's an 81% FT shooter now. He's also developing into a good off ball defender and surprisingly good shot blocker.

This is a team that is 12-9 since Wall came back, and 11-5 in games with Wall, Beal and Nene. Great start when your top 3 players have a whopping 16 games played together. Stop looking for excuses to find the negative, when they're healthy they're a good, fun team.

I'm not looking for excuses to be negative - I'm just calling it like I see it. Beal has made a believer out of me. Wall is the same guy he was as a rookie - terrible form on his jumpshot and plays out of control way too often. Definitely not worth a max contract. He might be around the 10th best point guard in the game.

Nene is a good player but he's getting older and is injury prone and paid a lot for many more years. I might dump him while his value is high rather than bet on him continuing to be healthy and a good player as he ages.

Okafor has been playing really well but is also very highly paid and getting older. Do you pay him $10 mil a year after his contract expires to keep him? You might have to because none of the recently drafted big guys, going back to Pecherov and even before that, can defend or rebound.

They still won...now just 8 1/2 games out of a playoff berth, and now three teams behind them in the table (Cleveland as well as Orlando and Charlotte)...NOT DEAD YET!

Even if this team made the playoffs and somehow won the NBA championship I still would fire Grunfield lol

Very little chance to make the playoffs but even so, I think Whitman has done a good job. The team could easily have quit when they were 5-30 or whatever it was. He's done a good job with turning Beal into a good player but the other young guys are all (understandably) in the doghouse and don't get any burn.

The culture change stuff seems to have worked - they are a hard working, serious team now. They just need add some more good players and lose some of the dead weight.

I heard about that on the radio post-match show last night - would have been a bad move; Butler turns 33 next month and hasn't played more than 67 matches since 05-06. It wouldn't have even been a good nostalgia move - the False Spring (2004-08) was so long ago most people have probably forgotten about it (when the Clippers were here he did get some acknowledgment from the crowd but not thunderous cheering or booing).

Wall is out of his mind if that's what he really thinks. Plus his body language was terrible the whole game.

They should bench him for a game for the performance he just delivered. Both the attitude and his on-court play sucked.

The Detroit PBP guys thought it went in, too, and from the tv angle, which is similar to where the tv crews were, it looked like it went in.

Did Leonsis even own the team at that time? If he did pick her, she was the best. He would have had no idea about her illness to follow. It was not like the great Michael Jordan picking Kwame Brown number 1 on behalf of old Abe.

I don't know. Mostly I'm just piling on since all of Ted's teams are currently disasters.

Jordan was no better. His Bobcats are even lower than the Wiz in the standings.

This whole "empire" has been mismanaged since the days of Abe Pollin, Bob Ferry and Milt Schmidt. The WNBA was simply an addition to the bad business practices (for the fan).

He didn't: Holdsclaw was traded to the LA Sparks during the 04-05 offseason; Leonsis bought the club from Abe Pollin during the 2005 season.

Wall had another great game. I think that's 4 in a row now. He's been completely under control - not in 6th gear the whole game like he used to be.

Beal came back last night and played smart and hit shots. Okafor was good on the boards. Even Booker and Seraphin looked like not garbage. Poor Vesely is still looking like garbage though.

Wall really looks like he's turned a corner. He and Beal should be very good the rest of this year and should for a solid nucleus going into next year.
