Can't wait to tune into the ASG to see the fruits of The Plan.  Cut payroll and build through the draft, then abandon that strategy to sign a handful of $10+ million guys, resulting in zero all stars. Great job by Rizzo and team ownership.

BS.

The Padres have an All-Star.  The Rockies have an All-Star.

Neither of them have been built through anything.  They're completely in shambles but they have All-Stars.

The All-Star game is worthless.

I'll take a division race over an all-star every. single. year.

EDIT: Even in a troll post the ASG is a terrible way to measure success.  Come on.

You get it. Continued contention is what The Plan was all about, and they've contended for three straight years now.

Even the most novice baseball fan knows the ASG is not how you measure success.

So, a Nationals club that enters play tonight with a 49-42 record, tied with the Braves atop the NL East, will have no active players at the All-Star Game. Meanwhile, eight other clubs with losing records will send multiple players to Minnesota: the Marlins, Cubs, Rockies, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, White Sox, Twins and Rangers.

Maybe if they played anywhere close to their talent level they would have sent more players. Stop freaking looking for help and take control of matters on the field.

It's almost like baseball is a game where one or even two or three dominant players can't carry a team to goodness....

Sure the division race is more important, lucky for us we're in the weakest division in the league, otherwise having the only the seventh most wins in the NL would work against us.

It's hilarious that you equate an All Star bid with actually being a good player

:lmao:  You call last year contending? Even the most novice baseball fan knows 10 games out of first place is not contending.

Rendon should really be there and Clip, Storen, and Soriano have all played at All-Star levels too.

And contending for a division win is a pretty low standard with five team divisions, a team that's never made a LCS has never really contended for a championship.

Him too, and Fister might have had a shot if he had started the year healthy.

They should just fly the entire roster and have hem represent the NL and guarantee games 1,2,6 and 7 (if necessary) are played at Nationals Park.

Not as low a standard as total all-stars

We're better off with no Nats in the game so that we can have Zimmm play an extra game at DH in the WS.

Come on, it's silly to suggest that no Nats players have performed well enough to merit a bid. if the All Star game was actually about rewarding players for their first half performances on the field, the Nats would have several players that are more than worthy.

JZim
Strasburg
Soriano
Storen
Rendon
LaRoche

It's just a popularity contest. When players that have been injured all year are voted in ahead of players who are actually playing, the process is to flawed to take seriously.

Being an "All Star" is basically indicative of nothing.
