Jordan Zimmermann is likely to rest and miss the All Star game.  Mathey has to pick one rep for the Nationals and will talk to Matt Williams.  Anthony Rendon lost the Final Vote to Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs.
 :pimp:
Who will it be?

It has to be Rendon. Some position player will drop out and he can take his spot and they can choose another pitcher to fill in ZNN's spot.

It's going to be a pitcher.  Williams said.

Strasburg leads the Nationals League with 140 strikeouts.

Then it has to be Strasburg.

Stras is pitching tomorrow though isn't he? I wouldn't want him pitching on short rest in a meaningless game(blah blah home field advantage who gives a freak).

An inning would serve as his side session. Or they could just let him suit up and save him for extras like they did with ZNN last season.

i voted for soriano. it has to be him. he already contributed the most among pitchers

I didn't know this rule existed. I remember there were no Cardinals representatives when Matt Morris dropped out in 2002.

I voted for Rendon but I'd love to see ALR get a shot at it.

Soriano is the most deserving.

Might help us out. JZ is notorious for struggling in the second half. Simply put him at the back of the rotation and give him the fewest starts.

  • Now that right there is baseball.
Soriano is the most deserving.

He already said he'd say no, but if the Nationals ask him to it might be different.

Homer Matheny has already made a mockery of it with his selections...

We should send Barrett and tell him that he has to wear the pink backpack.

If Matheny is making homer selections it will be Storen

Stras if it has to be a pitcher because of his K's but Rendon is the most deserving Nat.

Henderson Alvarez. Yeah, he's not a Nat.

I hope the Nats take this as their mandate to kick the asses of the rest of the league from here on out and can pick all their own guys next year.

Can't wait to tune into the ASG to see the fruits of The Plan.  Cut payroll and build through the draft, then abandon that strategy to sign a handful of $10+ million guys, resulting in zero all stars. Great job by Rizzo and team ownership.
