I'm hoping they merge with the A10- that could be some good basketball,  and if you're a recruit,  would you want to play in a league focused on big city schools with out anyone caring about football?

Man would I like to see Georgetown/Temple or Georgetown/VCU twice a year.    MODIFY  ...  My God, Temple is going to the Big Least.    Alright then, Georgetown/Xavier will work.

 It's how I feel. Joe Pa, Miami's hookers, students dying filming, everyone cheating, SEC > all no matter what, the gutting of rivalries and traditions. The sport isn't fun anymore. Now they are ruining east coast sports.

I do like this move by the basketball schools. Just separate yourself from the chaos. It's not worth losing your basketball identity over some football money.

NCAA tournament > BCS.  CBB regular season <<<< CFB regular season

To me:

NCAA Tourney >>>> BCS, CFB playoff or whatever they come up with
CBB Conference Tourney >>>> Conference Shampships
Your worst CBB scandals >>>> CFB scandals
CBB Regular Season > Now watered down CFB regular season

The good conference tourney was the Big East's (I actually prefer it to the NCAA some years),  but that's gone now (unless Tulane v Boise works for you)

Wait for the fallout, there will be another one or two monster east coast conferences. Catholic schools will add schools (see above) or join another conference. Can you imagine the Catholic School conference tourney if they add Xavier, Butler, VCU, Gonzaga?

The ACC is also stacked with basketball schools, as long as the football conferences don't pick it apart (seems likely). The Big East is going to be done after this, so Temple will be in play.

I'm not saying you're opinion's not valid, it's just that they're not shutting down the #2 watched sport in the country.  Plus, CFB, to me is still significantly more entertaining than the NFL.

The CFB playoff, once the go to 8, which will happen sooner rather than later, will be phenomenal.

Outside of Paterno, which is in it's own separate category (and could just as easily happen in Lexington, KY or Stoors, CT as it did in Happy Valley.  Bernie Fine, anyone?), there's really not that much difference in the scandals in the two sports, it's just that the CFB ones are fresher.

What college basketball coach killed a student assistant,  because football has one of those,  also it turns out Fine was just a perv,  a far cry from Penn State

IDK, but they had a coach who covered up a murder of one of his players by one of his players.  I'm not equating Fine and Paterno, I'm saying egregious things can happen anywhere.

I'd like to see that as a basketball fan.    Hell, I'd even go the the Verizon Center to watch G'town and whoever they played.
