Well, they've got 6 straight games in AL parks starting on June 8.  That might be a start.

We've lost Zim, Morse, and Werth. Espinosa has been kidnapped and replaced with some guy who can't hit and strikes out about a 3rd of his at bats. There is no fixing this mess.

I know but you have to assume that Zim will start a little slow and who knows when LaRoche will regress to his career norms. No way he hits ~ .300 all season. I thought we'd be okay once Zim gets back but as soon as we get one piece we lose another. At this rate when we get Morse back in June Bryce Harper will have a season ending tooth ache or something. Smh.

Nady isn't even good enough to play LF for my dad's old Knights of Columbus softball team.  Seriously, stick a fork in him because he is DONE.  Put Moore there, or even Lombo, or call up Teahen.

haha are you in the knights of columbus?  my dad is too!

i know the pirates have tabata/pressley, both are upgrades over bernadina/nady.

i'm sad we're losing werth, but i'm glad we're gaining zimmerman/laroche.

You can break it down by month. Thats pretty close.

MLB average 2011: 116
2010: 126
2009: 134
2008: 126
2007: 130
2006: 136
2005: 126

EDIT - Wow .... how do we get 2009's offense?

Interesting tidbit - the league average R/G for March/April this year missed being EXACTLY 4 by just one run (1449 RS, 362 GS)

Yeah that's more or less what I'm looking at, precise methods are just going to be too tedious.

Take May's average and interpolate.  Apply a consistent method.

2009 and how so high?  Dunn, Johnson, Hammer, and an effective superwillie.

To be fair LaRoche's career norm in the 2nd half is great.  .295/.354/.535.

Not sure what you mean by this.  May's average would just be May's average, it does not include April.  No site I have found is able to offer league-wide YTD stats for a given date in a previous season.  The best I've found is league-wide splits for single full months.

Take the end of April total runs scored and the end of may total runs scored.  Interpolate by date (i.e., take the number 8/31st of the way between the end of April and the end of may).  GIGO.

Nah, I'd rather stick with real data.  We can evaluate May and April + May when June comes around.

Unless someone is volunteering to go through BR 16 teams x 8 years every day getting "RS through X games" data ;)
