Sad news.  I don't believe he ever got inducted into the WWE HoF.
When you are the one who everyone says got Stephanie McMahon's cherry you don't have much of a chance

RIP Macho Man...

I remember watching wrestling on Saturday or Sunday evenings on the Super Station... I still remember the first time I heard Iron Man come on and seeing the Road Warriors run out to the ring and then dismantle their opponents. That was real wrestling. Their best feud to me was the one with the Russians... Ivan and Nikita Koloff (sp?). Good times...

I wonder if Leaping Lanny will give the eulogy and have it rhyme.  RIP - oh yeah!

for those of you who missed it tonight, Abe came out for the President's race dressed as Randy Savage (multicolored hat and glasses).  About half way through the race his hat started falling off and he had to be helped across the finish line.  Afterwards they brought out a championship belt.

video will probably be here soon: http://blog.letteddywin.com/

Cm punk cut a promo for the ages on raw tonight, calling himself a "wrestler" trashing the mcmahons, naming other promotions/wrestlers, trashing USA, basically breaking every rule before they cut off his mike and ended the show. Probably a work, but it has people talking.

I think he meant USA network, not the country, but I didn't see what he's referring to so I could be mistaken.

Very well.  When wrestling left TNT/TBS, I stopped watching.

He did mean the network and it was a great promo.

I really don't think this is anything more than a shtick.  I can't imagine they'd let him go on-and-on like he did last night when they could just cut him at any time.  And when they finally cut his mic he made a goofy face and some sort of contrived gesture to the camera (which conveniently didn't cut out).

CM Punk has become one of the great ones they have so I really hope he sticks around.  I miss his "Straight Edge Society" gimmick.  That was fantastic.

From what I've read... he really is burnt out and wants a break from the WWE... but of course, his promo was approved ahead of time.

When you're a guy like him that refuses to take pain killers... it must be tough to continue to wrestle day in and day out.

Whatever the WWE is doing with CM Punk, it's the greatest thing ever.  Punk confronted HHH at ComicCon today:

Brings back the memories. I remember going and seeing WCW live when I was a kid. Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Magnum TA, The Koloffs, the Road Warriors....ahhh those were the days.

MMA heavyweight champion Josh Barnett recently reenacted Dusty Rhodes' famous "hard times" promo to promote his own fight.  He also held a public sparring session that turned into an inpromptu wrestling match.

here's a really sad story on Ric Flair and the messes he's created for himself.  He truly lived his character.

E:60 had a feature tonight on Scott Hall (aka Razor Ramon), at 53 he's just about destroyed himself via drug and alcohol abuse.  He's suffering from heart failure and has a pacemaker, and he's taking 11 medicines a day to keep himself alive (he's also suffering from seizures).  Despite 10 trips to rehab (at a cost to the WWE of more than $100k) he still can't get himself off alcohol and pain killers.  They showed how his son is training to be a wrestler and is still doing all he can to help his dad get clean.  It was one of the saddest things I've ever seen on TV.

Addicts aren't going to quit until they're ready or dead.  Nothing really sad about it, it's just the way it is.  Anyone here remember "Beyond the Mat" with Jake "The Snake"?

yeah, sad as well.  Hall's viewpoint is simply that now that he's no longer a big name wrestling star, he doesn't have anything to live for.  His only joy in life came from walking out of the curtain and hearing the crowd.  Which of course sucks for his family.
