By Mike Stanton not living up to his 500HR potential?  Me for starters.  I haven't been this excited for a position player to develop since Ken Griffey Jr. back in 1989.  There is nothing funny or good about a player's career being destroyed, unless it's Chase Utley.

I'd have no problem with his career being a dud.  I don't want him to get hurt or anything, but if he's a bust, fine by me.

I felt this way about Brad Eldred and Sam Horn.

I think he should have to play for the Reds for free next year.

You have to wonder about the physical he took.

You mean the one the team does?

Apparently the Reds didn't take out insurance on Madson's contract since team policy is not to do so on one-year contracts.

No, but probably he'll not get much above an MLB minimum with a lot of innings pitched and games finished bonuses.  He's got to hope he'll be ready to throw in spring training next year.  It'll be closer to what Joe Nathan went through last year than what JZ went through because JZ was able to come back at the end of 2010 and go through a normal winter.

I was questioning the wisdom of forcing players to play for free because they hurt. I guess PA feels that somehow Madson is stealing money.

sorry linty - meant to grab the first mention of this up thread and saw yours.

My point is, he is probably going to only get a bare minimum guarantee next year from whoever decides to pay him.

Happened to catch some of that game on MLB Network when that happened.  It was the Mets broadcast though.  They had no idea either.

Watching the Mariners-Athletics game. Felix's change is just ridiculous.

Don't tell me that!  I have him at $41 in my roto league and was planning on cutting him before our auction (we draft a week into the season).

OK, now i offer him to the guy who has little Dustin at $32, which would allow me to trade Gardner.

Is it bad that my first thought was Dustin McGowan?
