The Nats officially released Wil Cordero today... According to RotoWorld, Cordero who was designated for assignment five days ago, isn't ready to retire, but there haven't been any clubs expressing interest in him yet.

Go figure!

Not at all surprised someone picked him up.

Was not a bad decision for the Nats as with Baerga playing well off the bench, he was expendible.

Mets will give him a chance to get some AB's in the minors (he really hasn't had many major league AB's this season which is the only thing in his favor in terms of his remaining "potential") and hope that he has one more good month as a MLB hitter left in him. Can't be costing them much to find out and they could use him at first if he shows he can still hit a bit.
