Wasn't someone recently asking about how slow Nieves is?  Well there's your demonstration.

Please elaborate, I have the radio on.

They were talking about Pudge's injury and Bob says something to the effect of "This might go back to that throw Pudge had to reach up for when Brian Bruney was pitching"

He mentioned "a couple weeks ago" or something like that, I didn't catch all of it, but it definitely seemed like a peculiar thing to bring up, especially considering some of the other errant throws Pudge has had to go after (like Morgan's)

He's not that slow for a catcher, but a lot of guys aren't getting to second on that. Stupid play by Morgan. He's made lots of mental errors this season.

Right, I didn't mean he was slow because he didn't make it, more pointing out how close it was(n't)

It's hard not to take that pitch. Gotta spoil it, though.

That's a great pitch, though. I'd like to see more pitchers get that call. Umps have been squeezing pitchers too much recently.

Except when the Phillies are pitching to us.

Two seamers that come back and kind of wrap around the plate like that are hard to hit and hard for the umps to get right every time. Pretty much depends on the frame job.

Lannan and the Phils have a weird, special relationship.  It's just too bad that he's been the one mostly on the receiving end of that relationship.

hammonds probably has sign pledging his undying love for "Lannan is a better man than I'll ever be".
