yeah, his first two at bats had me wondering how long it would take him to re-adjust, but his RBI double erased any doubt in my mind  :D

So now what becomes of Junior Spivey? Do we trade him, or keep him as a backup? We've got a lot of infielders, and now Vidro's back. I hope we keep him, as I've always been a fan, even when he was with the Brewers

Spivey's sticking around.  He's been a good backup, and we can give Vidro some nights off without regretting it.

I hope Marlon Byrd is in LF tonight.  He may be slumping, but we know he CAN hit, and he plays great defense.

We need to keep Spivey just in case Vidro's ankle doesn't hold.

Was there any comment after the game from Vidro about his race to the plate from second and the slide?  I was worried about that one.

Vidro said something about it.  said he was nervous when he slid, but felt good afterwards.

Frank's just trying to give him as many ABs as possible while there are still people on the DL.  With any luck he'll start hitting, but who knows.  Obviously Frank believes this.

I think it comes down to the fact that Glavine is a lefty and Cordero hits righty. I mean they had Baerga batting cleanup yesterday, either that or Frank is just putting the 1st baseman in at cleanup regardless of whether or not it is Nick the stick, baerga, or cordero....

Wil's been hitting a lot better lately.  He jumped about 100 BA points in two or three games before he got hurt; I only hope it continues.  Baerga would probably be the safer pick, but Wil's had a few doubles in the last week or so.  But yeah, cleanup is a bit optimistic.  Frank's got a huge Wil Cordero fetish and will play him whenever he's not hurt.  I'm not sure what's up with that, but I'm willing to give FR the benefit of the doubt.

Wilky, Vidro, Guillen - awesome

Cordero, Castilla, Byrd - what the...  ??

With those two playing on either side of him, I sincerely doubt Vinny is going to be able to get much done offensively tonight unless he takes one long.  I look forward to eating my words, though!  Byrd has been great defensively, and his swing was good for a while, too, but he needs to get out of this skid he's in.

Good to see Schneider in the game, I'm a big fan of him.  Carroll/Vidro/Cordero seems like a bizarre defensive setup to me, should be interesting to say the least.

Ouch... so much for hoping that Livan would carry the lineup through.  Still 8 5/6 to go, though...

Who would have thought Vinny'd be grounding into a double-play batting behind Cordero?

EDIT - and now Byrd singles, too!  Guess I shouldn't quit my day job
